Auckland and North Harbour have returned to the New Zealand Women's Interprovincials with a vengeance.

Both teams are unbeaten through the opening four rounds alongside the hosts, Bay of Plenty and Manawatu Wanganui.

The four sides came into the week as the clear favourites and are yet to disappoint.

So far, they've each dominated their early matches to ascend to the top of the leaderboard midway through the tournament, with no signs of slowing down.

After playing at Tauranga on Tuesday, the women moved to the host club Omanu on Wednesday for rounds three and four.

North Harbour sits atop the ladder after two convincing wins over Waikato and Aorangi. After having a bye in the first round, they've dropped one game since and have accumulated 14 game wins to sit one game ahead of Auckland.

North Harbour captain Vaha Fapiano says the ladies from across the Harbour Bridge are enjoying being back playing top provincial golf.

'The girls are playing really well, and they need to as both courses are challenging. Hopefully, we can keep it up for the duration of the week.

'Yeonsoo has just become the Head Girl at Pinehurst College, so we're keen to perform well to celebrate her but also get back to winning ways after missing last year.”

They beat Waikato 4 – 1 and Aorangi 5 – 0 this afternoon.

One point behind is the most successful team in the competition's history, Auckland.

Like North Harbour, they had a bye in the first round but have come out swinging since. They had two five-zip victories over Taranaki and Otago and got over the line in a tight tussle against Canterbury this afternoon.

Chloe So, Caryn Khoo, and Vivian Lu all had big wins while Grace Zhan and Rebekah Blackwell-Chin lost down the last.

Captain Khoo says the team is enjoying playing match play again.

'We're pumped!

'We have a strong team, and all of us have been in great form lately. We're all feeling very confident. We're all friends, and we have a nice mixture of youth and experience, the team has jelled really well together, and I think that shows on the leaderboard so far,” Khoo says.

Bay of Plenty have kept the smiles on their supporter's faces, winning both of their games on Wednesday to sit half a point behind Auckland.

They had two consecutive 4 – 1 victories over Tasman and Waikato and play Otago in an important match tomorrow morning.

Manawatu Wanganui sits in fourth as the only other unbeaten side after their bye this morning and a 4 – 1 win over Tasman yesterday afternoon.

Plenty of movement can be expected on the leaderboard as Canterbury play North Harbour, Auckland play Manawatu Wanganui, and Bay of Plenty play Otago.
