The team at Pak'nSAVE Tauriko will have more time to rest and enjoy time with friends and family after what a spokesperson calls "a challenging year".
The Tauriko supermarket will be closed on December 25 and December 26 this festive season.
"This is the first time Pak'nSAVE Tauriko will be closed on Boxing Day," says a Pak'nSAVE Tauriko spokesperson.
For Jon Morrison, local owner and operator of Pak'nSAVE Tauriko, the extra day off is all about doing something special for his team at Christmas time.
"It's been another challenging year for our team and we thought what better way than to reward them by giving them an extra day off to rest and spent some time with their whānau," says Jon.
"All Foodstuffs, New World, Pak'nSAVE and Four Square stores are locally owned and operated, and the co-operated model means owners can tailor the ways they reward their teams," says the spokesperson.
Opening days and hours for the festive period for Pak'nSAVE can be found on their website and store's Facebook pages.

The world can survive a few days without shops being open. More focus on staff than just money is required.

Good on him, thats so nice. I feel for shop workers at this time of year, at least they will be able to travel to be with family. Merry Xmas to all of them.
