Calling all clue solvers and anyone that loves a challenge to get amongst ‘The Great Waihi Beach Scavenger Hunt' this summer!

Waihi Beach Community Events and Promotions are excited to host this free event which aims to showcase the picturesque beachside town while providing summer fun for the whole family. The Scavenger Hunt runs over two days –Saturday, January 28-29. With a maximum of 100 teams, each team can have up to five people aged 16 years old and over, plus an unlimited number of support crew under 16 years old.

'For the second year running, The Great Waihi Beach Scavenger Hunt will kick off over Auckland Anniversary Weekend,” says events co-ordinator, Vicki Lambert. 'Registrations for last year's event were secured in record time, so this year we're upping the ante and doubling the scale of the event.”

Each team must solve twelve clues/challenges around Waihi Beach and display their answers on Instagram in the form of creative photos. Teams that solve all twelve clues correctly will go in the draw to be selected as one of the three teams to participate in the finale of the Hunt –the ‘Dig Off'. The three teams in the ‘Dig Off' each walk away with a cash prize of either $750, $500 or $250, kindly sponsored by LJ Hooker Waihi Beach.
