Water shutdown on Oceanbeach Road following leak

UPDATE 8.27pm: Tauranga City Council is now expecting the water leak on Oceanbeach Road to be fixed by 10pm.

The water leak, found earlier today, prompted a water shutdown, which is currently affecting properties from 271 to 369.

"Contractors are working to supply more bottled water to all affected households. If you are in need of bottled water, please call our contact centre on 07 577 7000."

Earlier 7.40pm: A water shutdown is in place on Oceanbeach Road, affecting properties from 271 to 369, as contractors work to repair a leak, according to a Tauranga City Council spokesperson.

"Water has been off since earlier this afternoon. Contractors are working hard to get water back on as soon as they can, and expect to have the problem fixed by 9pm.

"Bottled water has been supplied to everyone affected. Please call our contact centre if you have not received this.

"Thank you for your patience."

A great idea but whose paying for it and who decides how much you need? Hopefully decided when it's delivered.
