A boat stranded on the rocks of Tauranga's waterfront has been successfully refloated

The Bay of Plenty Regional Council harbourmaster team were notified earlier Monday morning of a boat aground on the rocks opposite The Strand in the Tauranga inner harbour.

"The team are working with the owner of the Lady Patricia," says a post on the Bay of Plenty Regional Council website.

In an updated post, the council says the Harbourmaster team were successfully able to refloat and shift the Lady Patricia off the rocks in front of The Strand.

"The operation went smoothly and safely and despite being on hand, the Council's Pollution response team weren't required as the hull remained intact and no water entered the vessel."'
