"Emergency services and our contractors cleared the roads as fast as they could, allowing normal services to mostly resume," says a Tauranga City Council spokesperson. "Our roads are all now open. The clean-up continues as our team remove debris, sweep the streets and you can expect some traffic management in places as we clear fallen trees." Please follow Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency for State Highway updates. Water Tauranga city's stormwater, wastewater and water treatment facilities are all operating well.
