Tauranga Aero Club is again accepting any donations of food and water today to deliver to communities affected by Cyclone Gabrielle in Hawke's Bay. They are also needing help with covering fuel costs for the planes.
On Saturday, the club moved over 6000kg of supplies by air directly into Wairoa and Ruatoria where it is being distributed at their end by helicopter and locals.
"We've had 10 aircraft going back and forth all day," says a club member in a post on their Facebook page. "We have a huge amount still to go out tomorrow [Sunday]."

The club, located at 240 Aerodrome Road, Mount Maunganui is open today, Sunday February 19, for drop-offs for two hours only between 10am and 12pm.
"We ask only for food and water, we cannot accept clothing or bedding at this stage due to the space it takes up in the planes."
Any donations to help with fuel costs that you would like to send through please send to 02-0372-0019669-00 with 'DB donation” in the reference field.

"Thanks to Brett Marsh from Marsh transport for making his truck available," says a Tauranga Aero Club member on their Facebook page.
"What a day team!! We don't know where to start with who to thank! But thanks to those who have donated their goods, time and efforts!
"Thanks to Brendon and Lavina at Brookfield New World for their contributions also."

The club is stressing that they only want donations of food - including pet food, water and sanitary products. Any volunteers that can help out on the ground at the club is also welcome.
