Arrest following suspicious fire

Police are calling for witnesses to a suspected arson to come forward.

Fire broke out in a house on Ranginui Street in Ngongotaha on Wednesday, February 22.

Multiple fire appliances were called to the scene and the road was closed while firefighters battled the blaze.

Police have since arrested and charged a person in relation to the fire.

A 30-year-old man is facing a charge of arson.

'Police are interested in hearing from anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the Ranginui Street area around 9.30am on February 22,” says a police spokesperson.
