Recent wild weather has prompted a reminder for people not to forget the fate of the missing Marokopa children.
The whereabouts of father Tom Phillips and his three children – Jayda, Maverick and Ember – remains a mystery since the children were last seen in December 2021.
A Facebook page, maintained by members of the children's family, says: 'In light of recent weather events we'd like to remind everyone that the kids are still missing...and could potentially be anywhere,” the post dated at the weekend said.
'If anyone thinks they see them a picture would be greatly appreciated. Proof of life would mean the world. For more than a year thoughts of their well-being have plagued our minds.”
The family of the three primary-aged children has offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to their safe return.
A warrant to arrest Phillips was issued when he failed to appear in Te Kūiti District Court in January last year on a charge of wasting police time and resources in relation to the family's first disappearance back in September 2021.
A search for Phillips and his children has been going on ever since, captivating the nation and frustrating police and searchers.
Police have said the missing family could be anywhere in the country, and might be using fake names.
