State Highway 25 in the Coromandel region is closed this morning.
Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency reports that there is a washout on the southbound lane, between Hikuai and Whangamata.
The roading agency says there are no suitable detours in the area and people should expect delays.

Meanwhile, SH25A between Kopu and Hikuai remains closed after the highway collapsed following recent cyclones.
NZTA says there is a major underslip on the highway that requires significant work.
This work is likely to take to complete, reports the roading agency.
There are currently no reports of highway closures around the Bay of Plenty.
However, there are reports of delays on SH2 with roadworks reported in the area.
