The New Zealand Army Band are bringing all the feels in a heartwarming recording of a song they have dedicated to all those affected by Cyclone Gabrielle.
The video, which the band has posted to their Facebook page is a cover of Te Tairāwhiti youth choir Ka Hao's '35'.
The post on the band's Facebook page goes on to say the song "celebrates Tairāwhiti and life on State Highway 35, on the East Coast of the North Island, from Ōpōtiki to Gisborne - all areas which have seen true devastation and loss over the past month".
"All our aroha goes out to you," says an army spokesperson.
Watch the New Zealand Army Band perform their cover of 35:
The words of the song talk about having the time of your life cruising down State Highway 35 with Te Tairāwhiti being the first place to see the sun.
Paua and Ruatoria pies are mentioned in the nostalgic song which also awakens memories of driving State Highway 35 before it suffered damage during Cyclone Gabrielle.
Many parts of SH35 are closed following the cyclone with people who had their livelihoods washed away overnight not left to pick up the pieces.

The approximately 24 members attended Kura Kaupapa Māori (immersion schools), and many are Ngāti Porou, while all have strong ties to te Tairāwhiti.
Ka Hao first performed in October 2019 as a part of the Te Tairāwhiti Arts Festival. In January 2020, the group released a live album of gospel waiata in te Reo, as a part of the supergroup Mōhau.
