doubted the Police in their hard work and efforts to bring law breakers like this to justice. It is as always, now a question of whether the courts and the so called 'legal system' shows the same determination in the pursuit of actual justice?

Hear! Hear! laugeo.

It is the Justice system that seems flawed, not the instruments of it. I don't understand why this was "aggravated". You have someone at your mercy, if they are being compliant, why put the boot in? Maybe the storeperson resisted, but it simply augurs the coming death of someone under these circumstances. A matter of time, unless we do something about it (like overhaul the Law regarding violence or presented weapons during a crime). It will increase as long as it remains an easy option.
