Fed up with red light runners at that intersection

There are red/orange light runners almost every time those lights change phases at Hewletts / Totara. I'm fed up with it, and this kind of delay is the result. Council are negligent for not issuing a ticket to every vehicle who should have stopped at an orange! The problem is because council doesn't enforce the rules , drivers break them constantly.

Hmmm

At this stage, the facts of the crash have not been identified, but I wonder whether the bus lane has been a contributing factor. Since their introduction, the bus lanes have been the scene of many accidents and even more near misses. We are all guilty of failing to use our mirrors enough, particularly the nearside (or lefthand mirror) before changing lanes or making a turn and this is almost certainly a huge factor in most bus lane collisions. It will make absolutely no difference to the outcome, whether the bus is travelling at 30kph or 50kph, seven or eight tonnes of vehicle doesn't stop quickly. If you use Hewletts Road, use your mirrors more. The same will be true along Cameron Road after the roadworks are completed and bus lanes are initiated.
