Power outages are being reported across Tauranga this evening.

There are 358 properties without power near Minden, and a further 311 properties are without power in Omanawa. An outage is also being listed in Ōmokoroa, with 926 properties affected, according to PowerCo.

There is also 642 properties without power in the Lower Kaimai and Tauriko.

Site investigations to determine the causes are underway.

Minden

The power outage in Minden began at 4.48pm, according to the PowerCo website.

A SunLive reader says in Te Puna, the wind gusts are "insane".

At this stage, PowerCo estimates the power will be restored in Minden at 9pm.

Omanawa

In Omanawa, 311 properties are without power. PowerCo says a site investigation is also underway in the area.

PowerCo says the power went out in the area at 4.40pm.

The estimated restoration time in Omanawa is 8.45pm.

Ōmokoroa

For Ōmokoroa, the power outage started at 5.35pm.

The estimated restoration is currently listed at 9.45pm.

Lower Kaimai and Tauriko

The power outage began in Tauriko and the Lower Kaimai at about 6.22pm. About 642 properties are being affected.

A site investigation is underway, according to PowerCo.

The estimated restoration time is 10.30pm.
