UPDATE 11.54am: The two children reported missing in Rotorua have been found.

A police spokesperson says "big thanks" to everyone who got in touch with information and shared the Bay of Plenty & Taupo Police Facebook post asking the public for help locating the missing children.

The police investigation into their whereabouts began yesterday afternoon. The eight and seven-year-old went to Park Road Reserve and didn’t return to their Western Heights Home.

In the original Facebook post made by police, the children were last seen at the park at around 2.30pm and were reported missing by whānau late last night.

A public appeal was put out earlier this morning, and almost two hours later, police say the children have been found.
