Crash on SH29, power cut reported

UPDATE: Power is out in the Lower Kaimai area after a vehicle has hit a pole on State Highway 29.

A police spokesperson says police are assisting FENZ and Ambulance Services with a single vehicle crash near Ngamuwahine Road.

"A vehicle has hit a power pole and gone down a bank.

"One of three people in the car appears to have a leg injury.

"An ambulance in route."

People are being advised to drive with care as heavy rain and strong winds are lashing the region,

EARLIER:

Members of the public are reporting a crash on State Highway 29.

People have posted on the Bay of Plenty & Waikato Accidents & Traffic Information Facebook page saying there is a crash on the Lower Kaimai near Ngamuwahine Road.

Another person reports a car has gone down a bank.

People are being advised to drive with care in the area.

Traffic delays are being reported in the area.

A power outage is being reported in the area.

Powerco says 95 properties are without power after a vehicle hit a pole this morning.
