Police are appealing for information from the public following multiple reports of damage to vehicles in Mount Maunganui on Saturday, August 19.

"We are aware of at least 10 vehicles reportedly being damaged in the area," says a police spokesperson.

"Investigations are being carried out and Police are working to identify and locate those responsible.

"Police would like to remind people to keep themselves and their property safe."

According to police, vehicle safety can be enhanced by:

•  Parking off the street
•  Parking in well-lit areas
• Removing valuables from within vehicles.

Mount Maunganui Police would like to hear from anyone who may have information on this offending.
