Man loses wallet - money taken

Tauranga Police are investigating a suspected theft from a man's ASB account after he discovered it had been overdrawn.

Police say the victim lost his wallet in town on Thursday, August 30 and then discovered his ASB account had been overdrawn.

Police would like to talk to this person seen here with a distinctive beenie.

The bank advised him a man entered the bank using his driver's licence and withdrew $456.

Police want to identify the person, who can be seen in the CCTV footage wearing a distinctive beanie, to assist then in their enquiries.

People with information can contact their local police station and quote the reference number 120903/8398.

Alternatively, information can be left anonymously via the Crimestoppers 0800 555 111 line.

I didn't think you were aloowed to keep any hat/ beenie on when entering a bank... surprised they didn't ask him to remove it before attending to his request.

Here we go AGAIN - yet another useless video snap from a camera mounted on the ceiling. WHEN are banks and dairys etc etc going to WAKE-UP WAKE-UP WAKE-UP and get serious? Mount a HD camera at eye level - Simple common sense - So who are the idiot installers and non-thinking bank/shop managers that are not using their brains? Grrrr!

agree withratepayer. Yes eyelevel cameras. Ithought the same as blokebear as well. but in saying that banks and service stations are pretty laid back. Sign clearly on the door etc of the service station. NO beanies, hoodies or helmets. what do I see all three with in ten min last night.............

Licences now have your photo on them as well so the bank teller wasn't very vigilant was she!

Also, does he look like the person in the photo on the drivers licence which they obviously viewed?
