Update, 6pm: Police vehicles at 11th Ave Z petrol station in Tauranga have been there since around 2.30pm following a medical event.
"Police were called about 2.20pm to what appears to be a medical event at that location," says a police spokesperson.
Earlier, 5pm: The 11th Ave Z petrol station in Tauranga is cordoned off, with police cars at the station.
A SunLive reporter at the scene says both the Cameron Road and 11th Ave entrances to the 11th Ave Z petrol station have been blocked off to vehicles.
"A police car is stationed across the 11th Ave entrance, and traffic cones have been placed across the Cameron Road entrance," says the SunLive reporter.
"There are two police cars at the scene, and two other cars parked on the forecourt.
"There are no ambulances or other emergency services present."
A caller to SunLive's 0800 number says they went past the petrol station about 3pm.
"There were three St John vehicles there at about 3pm. One ambulance and the incident response vehicle were parked on the forecourt, and the ambulance car was parked down the side of the station," says the Sunlive caller.
"There were three police cars there too,
Roadworkers are also working nearby in Cameron Road.
It is unknown at this stage why the station is cordoned off.
