Biggest art expo yet

Maureen Ledgerwood has taken out the 2023 Supreme Art Award at the Tauranga Society of Artists Original Art Expo.

Her work is one of a record number of entries on show in the society's biggest art expo yet, being held at the Tauranga Boy's College gymnasium. The exhibition runs until 4pm on Sunday.

Judge Evan Woodruffe had over 60 entries to judge in the Supreme Award Awards, and provided insighftul comments at the exhibition's opening on how he selects the winning artworks.
 
Runner up in the art awards is Jenny Moed-Korpela. There are also five merit winners - Lynne Dara, Suzanne Smith, Ruth Kenyon-Slade, Deb Clarke and Nancy Tschetner.

A high calibre of over 600 affordable works in different sizes, shapes, styles, colours and mediums is on display and for sale over the weekend.
 
The exhibition also features displays from Tauranga Floral Art Group.

As well as the Supreme Art Awards winning works to see, also check out the People's Choice, the Tiny Art, cards and prints, live painting and drawing, the raffles prizes, and see if you can win a painting.
 
The Original Art Expo and Supreme Art Awards is by gold coin donation entry at Tauranga Boy's College gymnasium. The expo is open today Saturday September 30 from 9am - 5pm, and tomorrow Sunday October 1 from 9am - 4pm.
