"A decade does not sound like too much when you just say it but after seeing all the job Pregnancy Choice have made, I am glad to look back and remember all these years working with our community for the community."

Those were the words from Pregnancy Choice Tauranga's branch director Janice Tetley-Jones, just before cutting the cake on their 10 anniversary.

”We are celebrating 10 years of impacting women’s lives, 10 years ago we found a big need for support for women who were facing unplanned pregnancies, they don’t get full information on their options and they often feel alone and scared, so having this place to help all of them is just amazing,” says Tauranga's branch director Janice.

Throughout these 10 years, there are thousands of women who have found support and a friendly environment to help them face unplanned pregnancies, and what started as a small counsellor service has grown into a big community and also a place where women can come and be heard.

“When young women suspect are pregnant they can come to Pregnancy Choice, have a free pregnancy test, and hear about all the information they need to know, so they can make a wise decision about what they going to do and can be supported in that decision," says Rob Kampen, Trustee of Pregnancy Choice.

The success of Pregnancy Choice in Tauranga has led them to open 5 more branches across the country and now they are helping women in Auckland, Kaikohe, Palmerston North, Dunedin and Christchurch.

“Our plan for the near future is to open 20 more centres nationwide to reach every woman in New Zealand facing an unplanned pregnancy and bring the possibility to get the help needed,” says director Janice Tetley-Jones.
