Gala to help impact women in need

A gala fundraiser – that celebrates the power of women and the incredible impact they have on the world around them – is happening this month to support the work of Tauranga Women’s Refuge.

Tauranga-based businesswomen networking group She is Unleashed is hosting the gala on November 18 – but ticket sales close November 3, so event organiser Kim Brown advises those interested to get in quick!

The Women of Impact Gala will take place on November 18 at Mercury Baypark, offering a glamorous evening of networking, a live auction, raffles, live music – and three key speakers who will speak of their own work.

“We have chosen three key speakers that are impactful within their communities,” says Kim.

Ezel Kokcu is a tech entrepreneur with three successful start-up ventures under her belt. Jess Owens is a multifaceted entrepreneur and the director of Just Jess Boujee Bakery in Auckland. Meanwhile Summer Brons is a multi-talented mother-of-five, influencer, and the founder of Summer Brons Shop.

Kim says auctions, live entertainment, photo opportunities, one free drink on arrival, dinner and dessert round off this event offering, which is “changing lives when people come together and help”.

Kim says funds raised will support safe shelter, prevent homelessness, aid in rehabilitation, raise awareness, and enable advocacy for societal change. “We believe that by coming together as a community, we can make a significant difference in the lives of these brave women,” says Kim.

“Whether it’s monetary or tangible products that are actually going to impact and help those that have escaped,” says Kim. “By contributing, you’re breaking the cycle of violence and empowering survivors to rebuild their lives, making a significant and lasting impact on our community.”

Hosted by She Is Unleashed, the Women of Impact Gala Fundraiser is on November 18 from 4pm-9.30pm at The Stadium Lounge, Mercury Baypark. Purchase tickets at: https://events.humanitix.com/women-of-impact-gala-fundraiser
