Tauranga City Council is working to improve the stormwater flow efficiency in Bethlehem, along the bottom of Beaumaris Boulevard.
To implement this upgrade, SH2 will be closed to city bound traffic from Moffat/Bethlehem roads to Cambridge Road.
These closures will occur overnight on Sunday, November 12, and Friday, December 1, between 8pm and 6am.
“A marked detour will be in place via Bethlehem Road, Carmichael Road, Millers Road, Otūmoetai Road, Cambridge Road, SH2 with a minor delay to your journey,” says a council spokesperson.
During the work, a shoulder closure on SH2 citybound will be in place near the Waihi Road off-ramp with a 30km/h speed reduction.
“We appreciate your patience as we improve our stormwater management in the Bethlehem area.”

Let's shut some more roads down. Night time day time who cares. Just gridlock Tauranga.
