Critical injuries in Te Puke crash

Emergency services are at the scene of a crash in Te Puke where at least one person is reported to have sustained critical injuries.

A SunLive reader messaged us on Facebook to say that nine emergency vehicles just went up No.3 Road in Te Puke.

"Must be a big accident or something."

Other people have taken to the Bay of Plenty and Waikato Acciddents and Traffic Information Facebook page saying there is an accident about 5km up No.3 Road, between No.4 Road and Bayliss Road.

A police spokesperson says police are at the scene of a "serious single-vehicle crash".

"The crash happened on No.3 Road, between No.4 Road and Bayliss Road.

"Emergency services were alerted about 7.30pm.

"Initial indications suggest at least one person has critical injuries.

"The Serious Crash Unit has been notified."
