On 4 December 2023, aged 81. Daughter of Cautley and Doris (Sanson), most beloved wife for 60 years of Peter, who predeceased Mum by 9 days.

Mother of the late Catherine, and of Jonathan, Roanna and Virginia; beloved grandmother to Marcus, Joe, Bruno, Alex, Matt, Catherine and Edward. Mother in law to Brian Dickey, Jason McCarty and Jenny Gravit.

A stalwart of the Te Puna community, with a lifelong commitment in Wellington and the Western Bay of Plenty to women’s equity and community engagement.

Our heartfelt thanks to the many caring professionals of Tauranga Public Hospital, Radius Matua and Waipuna Hospice, and to mum’s wide support network. Your aroha and assistance are deeply appreciated.

Mum will be at home for viewing and last goodbyes 12-4pm Monday 11 and Tuesday 12 December. The service to celebrate her life will be at Te Puna Memorial Hall, 3 Te Puna Road, Te Puna, on Wednesday 13 December at 11.30am. Livestream link available from www.legacyfunerals.co.nz (Service details).

Mum and Dad, you raised us well. We were privileged over the last three months to help you steer the scythed chariot of terminal cancer. We acknowledge the tragic beauty of you living and dying essentially in unison.

There will also be an informal celebration of Dad’s life the following day 14 December 2023 at the Tauranga Yacht & Power Boat Club, at 2:30pm.
