Two truck collision on Tauranga Harbour Bridge

Update: 12.38pm: A SunLive reader says two trucks have been moved out of traffic following a collision on the Tauranga Harbour Bridge.

"However the traffic is still congested," says the SunLive reader. 

Google Maps shows there is currently a 10-minute delay for motorists using the bridge.

Earlier, 10.52am: Police are responding to a report of a collision involving two trucks on the Tauranga Harbour Bridge.

"Two people are reported to have minor injuries,' says a police spokesperson.

"A heavy haulage tow is on site now to move the vehicles."

Police says traffic management is in place in the interim.

Google Maps are currently showing a 28-minute delay.

Hauling restrictions

Another reason why we need restrictions in place for trucks . Works everywhere else in the world why not here? It's an absolute disaster heavy trucks in the road at peak times.

Moving trucks off the road to a remote hub then constructing a purpose built train on the estuary to the port would save lives.
