UPDATED Monday 9am: Auckland's CrossFit HPU won the top prize at the weekend's Mount CrossFit National Team Competition - officially making them the "fittest team in the country".
New Zealand's first mass CrossFit event drew to a close at TECT Arena on Sunday, where crowds watched 70 teams battle it out to become the country's first CrossFit champions.

The Mount CrossFit National Team Competition began yesterday and has seen the teams of four complete physically demanding tasks, from push-ups and skipping, to lifting mass weights and maneuvering gigantic tyres.
Event director Tim Paton-Tapsell says the national event is a New Zealand first for the sport – which has been labeled the fastest growing fitness craze in the world.
'The whole philosophy behind it is you should be fit enough and strong enough to do anything,” he says.
'It's that whole thing of being physically able.”
In CrossFit, teams train by doing a WOD (work out of the day); however during this weekend's event teams had to complete multiple WODs each day – totaling five throughout the two days, or six if they made it to the final.
'We'll pick the top two scoring teams and they'll go toe to toe and it is winner take all from there.”
The teams, made of two men and two women, are judged on a range of criteria dependent upon the particular WAD, such as speed, stamina or completion.
