BOP's biggest book sale needs your books!

Books and more are needing ahead of the annual fair. Check out drop off locations for donations all over the Western Bay of Plenty.

In its 37th year, the Tauranga Rotary Book Sale is calling on the Bay of Plenty community to donate books and other items to the 2024 fundraising event.

On between 1-3 March 2024, the event has a loyal following of both donors and buyers.

Normally over 100,000 books are collected, sorted, and priced, attracting thousands of book bargain hunters over three days, says a rotary spokesperson.

"Since its inception, more than $1.5 million has been donated to the local Western Bay community because of the event’s success.

"The event involves more than 100 friends and volunteers to make it happen and usually $50k-$100k is raised each year, with books ranging from $1-$10, with special books priced higher according to their rarity, and the best going up for tender.

"But the event relies on the public getting into their garages, bookshelves, nooks, and cupboards to find books and other items for donation at various drop-off points around the Bay.

"Please help us boost donations of books and other items.
