The second scheduled closures on State Highway 29 Kaimai Range are expected to take place over five nights from Sunday, March 17, to Thursday, March 21, from 8pm to 3.30am each night.
The closures are needed to undertake asphalt renewals and other maintenance such as clearing drains, sign maintenance and road marking, says Waka Kotahi.
"This will result in a smoother, safer road for motorists and the full closure approach is safer for our crews and road users.
"The closure points on the western side (Waikato) of the Kaimai Range are at the SH29/24 and SH29/28 intersections and on the eastern side (BOP) of the Kaimai Range at the SH29/Cambridge Road intersection.
"Emergency services will have access at all times, residents can access their property from the relevant side of the closure.
"The timetable of works below is current at the time of printing. Closures may be re-scheduled in the event of bad weather."
