Motorists travelling between evening and early morning across the Tauranga Harbour Bridge can expect minor delays this week, as road works will be undertaken at night along Hewletts Road at Mount Maunganui.

NZTA Waka Kotahi advise that resurfacing work at night will take place on State Highway 2, Hewletts Road between Totara Street and Tasman Quay.

The work begins tonight, Sunday, April 28 and continues until Thursday, May 2, from 8.30pm to 5.30am.

Tonight only, from 8.30pm through to 5.30am on Monday, April 29, there will be a westbound road closure with a detour in place.

Motorists tonight can take an alternative route from Mount Maunganui to Tauranga CBD along SH2 Maunganui Road, turning right into SH29A, then right into Turret Road, and 15th Avenue through to Cameron Road.

From Monday, April 29 to Thursday, May 2, contraflows will be in place during the night works. Motorists are advised to expect minor delays.
