Truck rolls, multiple cars damaged on SH29A

A truck has rolled and multiple cars are damaged in a crash near Hairini.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says a truck has rolled just off SH29A near the Hairini roundabout.

"It looks like multiple cars are involved and the road is shut down.

"People should avoid the scene."

A police spokesperson says a truck on its side at the roundabout of SH29A and Welcome Bay Road, Hairini, around 8.40am.

"There are no reports of injuries at this time.

"Multiple cars have reportedly been damaged.

"The road is blocked, and diversions are in place.

"Police are making enquiries into the circumstances of the matter."

NZTA says while access is blocked to SH29A Hairini Rbt and Welcome Bay Rd, motorists should use alternate highway exit to access Welcome Bay area. Expect delays on SH29A.

"Use SH29A Poike Rd roundabout to access Welcome Bay area via Ohauiti Rd and Poike Rd," advises the roading agency.

Lucky this didn't happen yesterday when the radicals were out blocking everyone. Imagine emergency vehicles trying to get to the scene.

They should have loaded the tractor up against the headboard, that load was an accident waiting to happen.
