City's cheapest fuel stations

Petrol prices have dropped another three cents this week putting them at the lowest price since July.

Fuel prices have continued to drop after reaching an all-time high of $2.23 in August with 91 octane now $2.08 per litre.

Petrol prices have dropped again to the lowest since July.

At the beginning of the week, 91 was $2.11 per litre of fuel. Fuel is now at 216.9 cents for 95 octane and 152.9 cents for diesel, according to the Automobile Association.

In Tauranga the cheapest fuel can be found at the self-service Gull Service Station in Whakamarama where 91 octane is $2.029 per litre.

The self-service Gull station in Merivale has 91 for $2.03 while Caltex Service Station in Greerton is selling 91 for $2.11 (as of yesterday).

At Mobil on Chapel Street petrol was $2.069 per litre for 91 this morning.

Regular 91 was $2.089 per litre at both Caltex on Girven Road and BP on Maunganui Road.

Automobile Association fuel price analyst Mark Stockdale says an unusual combination of international influences and a strong kiwi dollar are so far bucking the usual end-of-year price rise.

The average price for fuel in Tauranga is $2.08.

That is obvious, and everyone says "big" is better? Try telling that to the Auckland ratepayers, where it has only got worse.

Funny how we are always told that fuel stations make their money from the food and things and not their fuel yet the price range can vary so much we pay $1.99 for 91 here and yet others have to pay 2.15 still but they are not making money from the fuel my ass!!
