Emergency services are responding to a three-vehicle crash in Mount Maunganui.

"There are three cars in a nose-to-tail crash city-bound on Hewletts Road near Ballance," says a SunLive reader.

"The crash happened at around 8pm. It looks like two cars barrelled into a vehicle that was stationary in front."

"Three cars were involved in a collision on Hewletts Road around 8pm," says a police spokesperson.

"Two needed to be towed but [there are] no reports of injury or blockage."
