Due to a crash, State Highway 26 is closed between SH25A and SH2 at Paeroa.

Emergency services responded to the scene of the crash at around 3am, Saturday morning.

The highway has been closed while the road crew cleaned debris from the site.

A detour is in place.

For southbound traffic, left onto SH25, left onto Hauraki Rd, left onto SH2.

For northbound traffic, Right into Hauraki Rd then right onto SH2

"Please take care and allow extra time for the detour," says a Waka Kotahi spokesperson.

It is unknown at this stage if there are any injuries.
