Motorists are advised to plan ahead for a northbound lane closure on the State Highway 29 Takitimu Drive Toll Road.
On Sunday, July 14, the northbound lane (from Tauriko to Tauranga) on the toll road will be closed to all traffic overnight from 8pm to 5am.
This one direction closure is required for the installation of the temporary barriers to allow a safe work site for crews working on the Takitimu North Link project, says a statement from the NZTA,
"While this work is taking place there will be a detour via SH29 and Cambridge Road/Moffat Road (see detour map). This detour will add up to 10 minutes to your journey.
"This closure is working collaboratively with the SH29 Kaimai Range overnight closures from 14 to 17 July as traffic volumes will already be low.
"NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi thanks people for their patience while this important maintenance work is carried out."
