Jared Hardy, Matt Smart, Brook White and Kale Tuhimata on the tug of war.

CrossFit Fortus co-owner Kirsten Tulloch says the event was 'a good laugh”.

'It was fun and that was the whole point of it.
'There were some real competitive spirits coming out, especially in the tug of war.”

Kirsten says a handful of teams took part in the competition, but she is adamant they will continue to run the event yearly.

'For sure, we'll be there yearly.”

She says the total amount raised is not yet known, but she thinks it is about $500.

Metal Mania won the team event, narrowly beating Gama Con by two points.

The winners receive one month's free training membership at the gym, located at Birch Avenue in Judea.
