I'm personally sad that

There is only one woman in the mix but votes are votes and that's democracy. I wish the new team well so long as they LISTEN to the community and make sure that developers pay their FAIR share of the Council's income.
Mahe has said he will listen to the Community so first job is to rescind the height changes at the Mount. the COMMUNITY do not want the increased heights.....and CLEARLY said so. The INDEPENDENT consultants said DON'T DO IT.....so it needs rescinding or you won't be 'walking the talk'.

Dear Mahe, please reach out to your fellow "first-time Mayors" in our region. They'll be a huge resource to you in your first 6 months of office, they've all had to learn how to navigate expectations post-campaign. Whakatane's Victor Luca, first-time Mayor who might not have got it right and can share some good advice no doubt on what not to do. Kawerau's Faylene Tunui, also a first-time Mayor but an incredible under-study of her predecessor. Rotorua's Tania Tapsell, stand out at being a first-time Mayor. James Denyer for Western Bay, also a first-time Mayor. Our entire region has selected "change" at the top, and there is a reason for that, please learn from them as Tauranga is a larger and influential place so getting it as right as you can from the outset will do you well. We will all appreciate it, I can assure you.
