Tauranga City Council staff say there will be some minor finishing works being completed off-road along Cameron Road this week.

"This includes installing a cultural sign near the Vantage Apartments building  at Fourth Avenue which was not completed earlier due to an underground service clash," says a council spokesperson.

"Another edge marker is planned for installation near Sixteenth Avenue on Monday, 5 August."

Bollard stencils - which are markers on the shared pathway bollards that have the walk and cycle symbols, - as well as edge marker bollards and stencils will also be installed along the corridor where required. 

"The edge marker bollards and wayfinders require a small amount of concrete at the base." 

From Monday, August 5 to Thursday, August 8, a small section of asphalt footpath at the Sixteenth Avenue intersection, east, is being replaced. 

Council says access to shops will be maintained at all times, with traffic controllers on site to help guide people though the area. 

During July, investigation of underground services along Cameron Road from 17th Avenue to Maleme Street in Greerton, and along Pyes Pa Road between Havenbrook Way and Cheyne Road has been continuing. 

Most work has been off-road and any work within the road itself done at night to minimise disruption. Lane closures were not expected however investigations were undertaken at approximately 10-15km per hour, so traffic management has been ready in case required around the slow-moving survey vehicle.
