With six matches to go and a solid six-point lead, Tauranga Moana is charting a course for promotion from the Lotto NRFL Women’s Championship.

The WaiBOP side is up against Melville United at Links Ave, Mount Maunganui today, Sunday, August 4. with kick off at 1pm.

Tauranga Moana has exhibited fierce form, winning their last seven games, and scoring a hefty 28 goals in their last five.

Only Tauranga Moana, Onehunga Sports and Franklin United remain in mathematical contention for promotion to the Lotto NRFL Women’s Premiership.

Onehunga and Franklin need to bring their A-game every weekend to have a chance of closing in on Tauranga and keeping their promotion hopes alive.

Onehunga are pitted against tenacious Birkenhead United at Shepherds Park.

Meanwhile Franklin United challenge Northern Rovers in a match likely to be a high-scoring affair. The two teams’ previous meetings this season produced a total of eleven goals, with Franklin coming out on top on both occasions.

In South Auckland, Manukau United will challenge Central United in a bottom-of-the-table clash.
