Due to road repairs on Tauranga Direct Road between Pyes pa Road and Hamurana, a road closure will be in place from Mon 5 Aug to Fri 16 Aug, from 8am to 4pm each work day, says NZ Transport Agency.

Once the road closure is complete, stop/ go temporary traffic management will be in place for 4 weeks until work has been completed.

"Please drive with care and follow temporary speed restrictions in place," says NZTA.

Alternative route

All vehicles a SH29A, right on to SH2, continuing to SH33 straight through to SH30 onto SH30A, turning right onto SH5 and rejoining SH36 at Ngongotaha, vice versa
