Tauranga MP moves his office into town

Tauranga MP Sam Uffindell is backing Tauranga’s CBD and has moved his electorate office to 14 Grey Street.

“It’s hard to miss the office, which is accessible from Grey Street and through the Spring Street Arcade," says Sam.

“I couldn’t be more proud to be located in the heart of our great city.

“It’s great being more accessible to people and having more opportunity to walk around and talk to people and businesses and see how they’re doing."

Sam says it has been a tough period for businesses with construction works, the removal of car parks and the recessionary economy.

“However, things are starting to pop up around town, interest rates are coming down and we hope that will increase confidence and local spending."

He says people should refrain from critising the CBD. “They will eat their words a few years from now.

“Tauranga will be one of the best boutique CBDs around and something we’ll all be incredibly proud of."

Sam says the CBD is going to be an amazing place "Once it all comes to life".

“I’m stoked to be in the heart of our city and encourage everyone to come into town, say hi and back our local economy."

So many closed shops and businesses, job well done local council.
Cheap real-estate to be bought no doubt, wink wink.

Hmmm

I guess that at least the rent will be cheaper and other than empty buses rolling past, it will be quiet enough to get some reading done.

Yep, I'll come to town again.....

when the parking charges go.....for at LEAST 12 months and when local CBD landlords cut their rent charges in half so that businesses can AFFORD to start up. See you after you sort those things eh.

Parking Fines

I guess that is one way you are supporting TCC staff, priority one, UTF and the Ex-commissioners impractical and senseless waste of ratepayer taxes for their owns benefits.
Be realistic, what is in the CBD anymore that would in any way entice the residents to visit...
may be you should start your own panglossian society.

You're happy to have additives and chemicals added to just about every grocery item on the shelves, including potassium bromate and glyphosate in your bread, but don't want a naturally occurring helpful substance in your water...?
Try reading the listed ingredients on the side of a pack of beer, a packet of cereal or some of the other shopping items that you throw into your basket without thinking.
Properly managed floride is beneficial to our children's health, just like folic acid that has recently been added to your bread.

Nice office but when visiting you have to pay for parking. Or will the Validate parking.

Downtown

with all those empty shops is probably cheap rent.

I'm wondering why my comment was posted here when it was referring to the council floridation discussions.
My apologies if I am at fault.

Empty Town :(

You are going to be very lonely in your posh office Sam,
With very few businesses still open and hardly anyone on the streets to talk to.
You would have been more accessible to the public if you had set up office in one of the close suburbs where there is plentiful parking and all the shops open, with customers in all directions!

Still hiding...

We hardly hear from this guy or see him, we do however ALWAYS hear from Nationals ONLY Minister Simeon Brown.
No wonder he moved his office into the CBD - no one ever goes in there so he'll never need to actually show his face or do anything.
First commissioners and now this lot... maybe the elected council can do better than both..... we shall see.....

Why

Posted on 27-08-2024 17:16 | By Kancho

Why would I try as twenty minutes driving stop go into town on Cameron road and then to try find parking at a price. Take the bus you say well don't think I have half a day to change buses and return . Last bus trip took a long time and town was hardly inviting. Think Sam won't be rin off his feet .

Who?

I voted for a guy from National called Sam but no idea what ever happened to that guy.
Now this guy's in town I wonder if we'll hear anything from him? He should consider using Sunlive to get his messages out on.
I really thought that other Sam was going to be THE man. Oh well.
