Motorists can expect delays due to a slip blocking State Highway 25A between Kōpū and Hikuai.

"State Highway 25A, near Kirikiri Valley Road, is currently affected by a slip blocking part of the road," says a police spokesperson.

"Traffic management is in place."

Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible, or expect delays.

State Highway 25A Taparahi between Kōpū and Hikuai suffered significant damage with the road collapsing after the North Island's major storm event in late January 2023. The road was closed while a new bridge was being built, and reopened on December 20 2023.
