MetService is forecasting a fine day with southwesterlies becoming fresh in the morning.

It's a one-layer clothing day with an expected high of 19 degrees, and an overnight low of 11 degrees. Low tide is at 8.24am and high tide is at 2.58pm. Sunset is at 7.30pm.

What's on today?

Check out the winning photographs in the 'Old is the New Black' photographic exhibition, currently on display along Tauranga's waterfront.  Old is the New Black is designed to break down the walls of ageism, tearing down stereotypes and shining a spotlight on Tauranga’s senior stars in a fabulously stylish way. The exhibition will be on show on The Strand, Tauranga until October 20.

Head along to see the 'Mindscapes - portraits of mental health' exhibition at Tauranga Historic Village.  This group art exhibition showcases the talents of nine diverse visual artists from the Bay of Plenty region and is open today from 10am - 3pm. Through their captivating portraits, they attempt to delve into the crucial themes of wellbeing and mental health, inviting viewers to reflect on how diverse and unique mental health may be for each of us and those around us.

Come join in for Tauranga's first Hobby Expo, where you can meet local hobby groups and clubs, all looking for new members.

The Hobby Expo is being held at Te Ao Mārama – Tauranga Library, Devonport Road from 10am - 1pm.

At the Hobby Expo there will be a wide variety of activity groups available to talk to and find out more about their club. With such a wide array of groups, there will be a hobby to spark everyone's interest. If you’re interested in starting a new hobby, or finding a group with a mutual interest, or even just curious for a look around, come along to the Hobby Expo at Te Ao Mārama – Tauranga Library. Please note many of the hobby groups at the Expo are primarily for adults, however children are most welcome to attend the expo, some groups have associated junior clubs.

The Battle of the Bays is taking place at Tauranga Domain today between Bay of Plenty Steamers and Hawke's Bay with kick-off at 2.05pm. Be sure to come and support our local team in their NPC quarter-final.

Have you been to the Lion and Tusk Museum yet? It's open today from 10am - 3pm at Unit 4, 14 Portside Dr, Mount Maunganui.
