MetService is forecasting a mostly cloudy day but with afternoon fine spells. Northeasterlies are expected to be developing for a time in the afternoon and evening.

Come and support your local team in the semifinals of the NPC this afternoon in Tauranga. The Bay of Plenty Steamers are taking on Canterbury at Tauranga Domain, with kick-off at 4.10pm.

Head along to the Tauranga Home Show at Mercury Baypark. The show, which opened on Friday, runs from 10am - 4pm on Saturday and Sunday, October 19 & 20.

The Tauranga Zinefest is on at the Cargo Shed, Dive Crescent, from 10am - 3pm. Tauranga Zinefest is a free, highly visual, community event celebrating zine culture. Zine is pronounced “zeen”. Zines are small, short-run, self-published, (maga)zines, covering a range of topics.

Come for a wander in downtown Tauranga and discover the stunning larger than life kiwi popping up in our city centre!  Making a debut in Tauranga, the Kiwi Art Trail begins its North Island tour in the heart of Tauranga city centre on October 14.

Developed by Save the Kiwi and Gallagher Insurance, with support from Tauranga City Council, the free Kiwi Art Trail includes 20 large kiwi sculptures each designed by New Zealand artists.Local artists Te Arepa Teki and Sam Allen were selected to have their designs featured on the local trail, and at completion of the event, sculptures will be auctioned off with proceeds going towards kiwi conservation initiatives.
