Cameron Road resealing works

Motorists travelling down Cameron Road this week are being warned sections of the road will be closed for resealing.

The first section to be resealed will be the westbound lanes heading towards Greerton between 9th Avenue and 11th Avenue.

Tauranga City Council reports the resealing is due to take place on Sunday and Monday evenings.

The second section is between 11th Avenue and 1st Avenue.

This work is due to take seven nights to complete and will begin on Wednesday. It will affect the eastbound lanes heading towards Tauranga City.

Both lots of resealing work will be done at night to minimise disruption but motorists are advised to expect delays and to use another route if possible.

This from Tauranga City Council's weekly update for the week beginning November 26.

City Waters

  • One sewer blockage was reported and attended to this week. The incident was in Dover Place and was caused by tree roots growing into a manhole chamber.
  • The next round of sewer manhole inspections is underway, ahead of the upcoming smoke testing program. Letters are being sent to property owners between Thirteenth & Fifteenth Avenue from Cameron Road and Turret Road to advise that smoke testing will be done in their area from the beginning of December to the end of January.
  • A tomo in Aranui Drive close to a stormwater manhole is being investigated for cause and then to arrange repair as necessary.
  • Soak holes in Matthew Street for the draining of street sumps are to be uncovered and cleaned out to improve the stormwater drainage.
  • In the stormwater reserve off Carmichael Road, near Westmorland Rise, heaped pond cleanings of vegetation are planned to be removed off site.
