A car went off the road at Kawerau Rd West near State Highway 30 at 10.45am, according to a police spokesperson.

“All occupants of the vehicle are out, and the injuries are minor,” the Police spokesperson said.

The car was upside down when Fire and Emergency New Zealand arrived at the crash site, according to a spokesperson.

"No rescue was required."

.One rapid response unit and two ambulances were present at the crash, a Hato Hone St John spokesperson confirmed

"Four patients are currently being transported to Whakatane Hospital, one in a moderate condition and three in minor conditions."
