A Little Ray of Giving is an annual charity campaign organised by Ray White to give back to the local community at this time of year.
Ray White Mount Maunganui and Pāpāmoa spokesperson Catherine Davey said this is the 13th year the company is doing this charity drive across the whole network.
“This year Ray White Mount Maunganui and Pāpāmoa are supporting Tauranga Women’s Refuge.
“We chose women’s refuge for the second year in a row now as we feel that they work tirelessly to offer safe spaces for those in our community experiencing family violence.
“By arranging these gifts we can ease this load on the team so they can keep up their good work where it is needed most.
“We can provide the icing on the cake to the people staying at the safe houses over the holidays.”
Ray White Mount Maunganui and Pāpāmoa liaise with Tauranga Women’s Refuge to find out what they need most so that they can let the community know what to donate for each age group.
“It is often the teenagers that the women’s refuge supports that are the ones that miss out, so the main requests we have are things like scuffs, steel drink bottles, sports equipment, journals and self-care packs,” said Davey.

“Summer clothing including jandals and towels are also on the list of course.”
This year they are including adult women and adult men whom they support.
Gifts can be dropped into the local offices during business hours, where they tag them, wrap them where needed and pop them under their office Christmas tree.
“The lovely team at the women’s refuge then collect them from us in time to get everything ready and to also have the prezzies under the tree to build that excitement for all the kids.
“Every little bit counts – so if you are in a place to even give one extra gift this year, you can make a big difference in someone’s life who deserves to smile this Christmas.
The Ray White Mount Maunganui and Pāpāmoa sales teams are the driving force behind the business’ “A Little Ray of Giving” campaign.
“They are the ones out and about gathering the gifts as well as providing some themselves.”
The support team in the offices keep everyone on track and accepts and organises the gifts for collection.
“Anyone can reach out to us – email, call or pop in and see us at our Pāpāmoa branch at 1/9 Domain Rd and we can let them know how they can help,” said Davey.
“We have our wish lists of gifts that they can choose from to provide, and they are of course welcome to donate directly to Women’s Refuge as a monetary contribution to help keep their doors open.”
