This March, two extraordinary special-shaped hot air balloons from the United States will light up the skies over Hamilton as part of Balloons Over Waikato 2025.
From March 18-22, Ms. Autumn and Owlbert Eyenstein will take centre stage alongside a fleet of local and national balloons, flying every morning from 7am at Innes Common, Hamilton Lake.
With their vibrant designs and larger-than-life presence, these special shapes promise to captivate crowds and create magical moments for festivalgoers of all ages.

Ms. Autumn, crafted in 1994, is part of a rare series of balloons representing the seasons and will showcase her stunning autumnal design in Hamilton for the first time.
The pumpkin-shaped Ms. Autumn hot air balloon holds 93,000 cubic feet and weighs about 500 pounds (226kg). With her massive green stem, the balloon stands five storeys tall.
Owned and piloted by Colin and Brittany Graham of Endeavor Ballooning, Colin’s passion for flight began in childhood, and he has since flown balloons in over six countries.

Owlbert Eyenstein, standing an impressive 30.5 metres tall, is a “whimsical and towering owl that will charm audiences with its intricate design and sheer size”, owner and pilot Gary Moore said. Moore, a commercial pilot who has flown in 24 countries, will showcase Owlbert to Hamilton for the first time.
“We are delighted to continue the excitement of ballooning in Hamilton with an incredible line-up of balloons and entertainment for the community to enjoy,” Balloons Over Waikato Trust chairman Steve Gow said.
“We extend our sincere gratitude to our strategic partners - Hamilton City Council, ZURU, WEL Energy Trust, and Grassroots Trust, and our legacy partners, Hamilton Airport, and the Glenice & John Gallagher Foundation, for their continued support in making this event a reality.”
