One person is in a serious condition after a crash involving a truck in the Bay of Plenty

Police say emergency services were called to State Highway 30 Rotoiti Forest about 9.20am.

“It appears one person is in a serious condition.

“The road is closed, and motorists are advised to take an alternate route.”

A Fire and Emergency NZ spokesman said the crash was between a truck and another vehicle, west of Manawahe Rd.

One person was trapped and crews were working to get them out using rescue tools, he said.

Three trucks from Rotorua, Kawerau and Rotoma were called to the crash.
