Pams chicken nuggets recalled

Pams brand Tempura Coated Chicken Nuggets are being recalled after fears they may contain small pieces of blue rubber.

New Zealand Food Safety (NZFS) has supported a recall of Pams brand Tempura Coated Chicken Nuggets after small pieces of blue rubber were found in the product.

“If you have a one-kilogram bag of Pams Tempura Coated Chicken Nuggets with a best-before date of 16 October 2025, do not eat them,” NZFS deputy director-general Vincent Arbuckle said.

Customers are advised to return the affected product to the store of purchase for a refund or dispose of it safely if returning it is not possible.

The recalled nuggets were sold nationwide at Four Square, Gilmours, New World, Pak’nSave and Social Supermarket stores.

They have been removed from shelves and were not exported.

The issue was discovered following a customer complaint, and no reports of illness or injury have occurred.

NZFS is investigating with Foodstuffs Own Brands to determine how the contamination occurred and to prevent a recurrence.

For more details, including product images, consumers can visit NZFS’ food recall page.

Food safety authorities regularly monitor recalls to ensure consumer protection, and NZFS urges customers to check their freezers for the affected nuggets.
